The inverter, the lithium battery, the PV string board and the AC transfer board all went onto one wall, joined with square trunking so every cable run can be followed from one box to the next.
The PV string board gives each string of panels its own isolator, fuses and surge protection. The AC transfer board carries the changeover, with the dual-supply warning labels an installation fed from two sources has to show.
Inside, the house was split onto two boards. The inverter board carries the plugs and lights that need to stay on. The normal-power board runs the stove, the geyser and the pool from the grid, with AC surge protection. When the power goes, the battery only carries what matters, so it lasts far longer.
