Why a smaller battery can last longer
This is one of our installations. The top board runs off the inverter and carries only plugs and lights. The bottom board runs the stove, the geyser and the pool straight from the grid.
So when the power goes, the battery isn't trying to heat water or cook. It runs what you actually need, for far longer. Splitting the board is often worth more than paying for a bigger battery.

Questions we get asked
Do you do small jobs as well as solar and commercial work?
Yes. A breaker that keeps tripping, a new plug point, a geyser that's stopped heating, a stove element or a CoC for a house sale. Send us a WhatsApp with a photo and we can usually tell you what we're dealing with before we come out.
When do I need an electrical compliance certificate (CoC)?
When you sell a property, after electrical work is added or changed, and often when an insurer asks for one. At transfer a CoC is generally only accepted if it's less than two years old and nothing has changed since. More on CoCs.
Does my solar system have to be registered with the City of Cape Town?
Yes. Any system that can connect to the grid, including a hybrid inverter with batteries, has to be registered with the City and use an inverter on the City's approved list. How SSEG registration works.
